To qualify as a piggy parent for one of our  piglets
you must
:

                1. Own your home or have a letter of permission from your landlord.

                2. Check your local laws and ordinances (a few areas have laws against                          split-hoof animals).

                 3. Pigs need sun and exercise to be healthy, so a fenced yard is                                        preferable, best and easiest.   Pigs are also most happy,

mentally and emotionally when a sand box and small plastic water                                 pool/tub are available for them (water and sand bathes are part of their                        instinct and nature).  Although these things can be inside, most people                          prefer to keep them in an outside  area.  Another option, if fencing is no                       possible, is a running wire/lead and  daily walks (just like a dog).                                   Sun, exercise water are vital to maintain a pig's happiness, good                                   attitude and well mannered behavior.

A pig that doesn't get regular sun must have vitamin D supplements.

                4. Other pets in the home must be gentle and friendly to other animals.

                5. In order to be optimally happy and healthy, pigs need a strong bond and

and interaction with another intelligent being.  They require care more                          like a  small child than like an animal.

So, you MUST have time to train, enjoy, cherish,
and shower your house pet pig with affection.

Your House Pet Mini Pig will love you for it and be loyal to you forever.

                6. Pigs do poorly if left alone.  They are highly social herd animals and are                      subject to depression and anxiety if left alone to much. So, if

                    a stay-at-home house-mom or house-dad is not available,

a good option for working people is to get a pair of piglets (if you don't

already have a gentle and sociable dog ).  They will bond tightly

to one another and do just fine during working hours that way.

We  GUARANTEE the  size of all  our  little  pigs.

A healthy, well trained and social piglet will live as long as many toy breed dogs and longer.  It is possible, with excellent care, to have your adorable companion live
as much as 15 - 25 years!

This is a serious commitment and  Long-term relationship.

The more you treat your pet house piggy like a small child family member, the more your new piggy will fill your life with laughter and funny stories to tell!  They will love you more and they make you smile every day just by their funny way of coming to you and saying, "Hello"!

Taking Care of Your Precious Piggy

We have found that Pine Pellet Horse bedding is the best litter for our pigs. It is the same as pine pellet cat litter but half the price.  Even though pigs are very clean, you must provide and appropriately sized litter box for the height of your piglet and change the height of the litter box as the piglet matures, or they will miss or go next to the litter box.  If this happens please use natural, non-toxic cleaners.  White vinegar is effective, inexpensive and non-toxic.  We also use vinegar for cleaning concrete, brick walks outside (it also kills the weeds between),  and the RV, but be careful of this because if you use too much your neighbors may mistake the smell of vinegar for "pig smell" and complain!

Please remember, these pigs are HOUSE PETS.  They are not out-door pets.  Out-door time should be for recreation and exercise only (and only during good weather).  The smaller a mini-standard pig is, the more difficulty they have maintaining their body temperature. Hypothermia is always a concern.  Wind or cool temperatures can sicken or kill a fully grown standard mini pig.
Younger or smaller (Micro) pigs are even more dangerously sensitive to cool air and wind.
(Little doggy or piggy coats are advisable in cool/windy weather.)
Mini pigs must have fully enclosed and heated shelter in wind or weather of less that 50 degrees F. or live in the house with you.  And, for their mental & emotional health, they should never be kept outside alone to live, even in warm weather (as many people do with dogs).  Pigs are herd animals and must have company to feel safe
and be happy, healthy pets.

Pigs are very clean, hypoallergenic to a great degree, much smarter than dogs, affectionate, playful, funny and the list of great attributes goes on..,
They can litter train themselves at between 3 days and 3 weeks old  (like a cat), use wee-wee pads like a dog, or can learn to ring a bell hanging on the door knob or just "ask" when they need to go out and relieve themselves!

Anything you can teach a dog, a pig will learn twice as fast !

Your piglet needs attention and love so please have time to shower your house pet piggy with affection, and gently but firmly and consistently train your little companion with love,
just as you would a small child.
Since they think independently,

patience and firm consistency is a must.
This creates a happy, affectionate, well mannered little pig's personality!
